Inventory audits are the key to maintaining accurate inventory counts at your venue. Therefore, POSaBIT suggests that inventory is audited a minimum of once every quarter. In order to help you perform these audits, POSaBIT provides several different auditing methods to allow you to choose the one that works best for your venue.
Currently, POSaBIT offers several different audit methods including:
- Manual entry via spreadsheet or portal
- Inventory audit using an external scanner
- PocketPOS mobile Audit App
Below you can find a brief description of each of the auditing methods above to help you choose which one is right for your venue.
Manual Entry via Spreadsheet or Portal:
This audit method is the most basic audit process that POSaBIT offers, however it also leaves the most room for human error. When performing this audit, you will first need to create a new audit within the POSaBIT portal to generate a list of products that will be audited. Then once you begin the audit, you will manually perform counts of each product within the list and enter the counted quantity either on the POSaBIT generated spreadsheet or directly within the POSaBIT portal. Inventory Audit Using an External Scanner
An inventory audit using an external scanner is the most flexible method for auditing within the POSaBIT system. When performing this audit, the auditor is able to walk around with an external scanner (such as a socket scanner or other inventory scanner) and scan a group of products within a room. This scanner will then populate a text file with a list of all barcodes that were scanned. Once the auditor is done scanning products, they will just upload the text document to the POSaBIT portal and we will automatically generate an audit by counting how many times each barcode was scanned. Depending on what scanner you use this audit can be completed using a scanner that is connected to a computer or a scanner that has its own internal memory.
Pocket POS Audit Application
The Pocket POS audit application combines the best parts of the other audit methods including the ability to count products using a scanner, manually enter counts within the application, and real-time synchronization between the audit application and a generated list of products on the portal.
